Oxford Investment Opportunity Network

The Oxfordshire Investment Opportunity Network (OION) was launched in 1995 as one of the UK's first business angel network. Today, OION is one of Europe’s most successful technology business angel network linking investors to companies with high growth potential seeking business development funds from £200,000 to ~£1.5m.

Members are from a wide base of interests offering experience in marketing, finance, strategy as well as equity funding to businesses.

Since Autumn 2009 OION has been successfully running a series of Investor Workshops with the help of its professional experts covering a range of topics essential to the investment process. These workshops also provide an opportunity for new and seasoned angels to share their experiences. The main aim is to support the networks’ members and to encourage new investors into the exciting area of angel investment.

The OION Network was one of five partners in the successful bid from Capital for Enterprise for a £50m Co-investment Fund which will provide capital to match investments from business angel members of the Network in high growth companies. 

OION also has two sister networks: the Thames Valley Investment Network (www.tvin.co.uk), with a focus on media, FMCG, lifestyle, green-technology,  and Oxford Early Investments (www.oxei.co.uk) which is focused on very early seed investments.
