Halo runs the NI Business Angel Network which connects high net-worth individuals with start-up and growing companies.

Halo is sponsored by Invest NI and Intertrade Ireland and operates within the NI Science Park.

NI has 2 top flight universities, agricultural colleges and private companies providing a pipeline of new and innovative ideas. There is a strong local culture of technical innovation and entrepreneurship, backed by good regional aid including cross border all-Ireland support.

A growing network of over 80 angels attends 6 investment evenings each year. Pitching companies are carefully selected and prepared to provide succinct high quality presentations in a very relaxed and sociable atmosphere.

Although the majority of the halo angels are from Northern Ireland, the network welcomes angels from further afield. The attraction for angels in for example London is access to a quality deal flow that they would otherwise not see. This is aided by a powerful website giving private access to the pitches after the actual meeting. The video is viewed alongside the synchronised Powerpoint allowing remote angels to review and judge the companies.
