SWAIN is a highly focussed executive team of 4, all of whom have run successful businesses. We are keen to collaborate with other Business Angel Networks. As a relatively new network we consider ourselves to be energetic, fresh, focussed on doing deals.

For investors the network offers access to a rich source of selected investment opportunities in the South West. Our investor members investment experience ranges from those who have already built up a portfolio in unquoted companies to those who are seeking their first opportunity, all can bring contacts, strategic know-how and expertise to a successful venture. We have also built relationships with Venture Capitalists and Venture Capital Trusts who are also keen to develop relationships with emerging growth businesses.

Companies who are successful in raising equity finance share certain key attributes including strong growth potential, good management skills, a sustainable competitive advantage in their market and provide a product or service which offers a high value proposition to its customers. We can help entrepreneurs to evaluate their strengths and can assist in developing the plan and proposal. We do not focus on any specific industry sector. SWAIN creates an internal deal team of 2 to evaluate and work with each company.

Our introductions are made in a variety of ways. We run a series of Introduction Meetings at which up to six companies give short presentations about their business to potential Business Angels. We also circulate details of new opportunities to all those Angels on our Network by email.
